The History of University of Westminster

This series of thematic books tells the story of the University of Westminster and its predecessors beginning with the Polytechnic Institution that opened to the public in 1838. Science, the legacy of educator and philanthropist Quintin Hogg, sport and the Regent Street Cinema respectively form the focus of the first four titles. Lavishly illustrated throughout with images and founded on research from the University of Westminster’s extensive archives the series chronicles and celebrates the heritage, ethos and mission of the University and its diverse predecessors such as the Young Women’s Christian Institute and the Polytechnic of Central London.
